Swamp Thing has found another one of its leads. Straight from DC themselves, we have news that Jennifer Beals (The Book of Eli) has been cast as Sheriff Lucilia Cable, an original character. Deathstroke Will Appear on TITANS…Eventually
DC Universe’s Titans is set to bring many iconic Teen Titans characters to life, and with a season two renewal already confirmed, that’s only going to keep going. But one character fans have wondered about is Slade Wilson, aka Deathstroke. Despite his strong ties to the Titans, Deathstroke has been a part of DC’s plans for other projects. However, that isn’t going to stop Slade from coming to DC Universe. At New York Comic-Con, producer Geoff Johns confirmed that Deathstroke will (eventually) make his presence felt on Titans. “You’ll see Deathstroke in Titans eventually, but it’ll be a new version. KRYPTON Unveils First Look at Lobo
Lobo is set to be one of the villains in Krypton‘s second season, which premieres sometime next year on SyFy. Actor Emmett J. Scanlan was recently cast as the Main Man, and now, we have a first look at the character. SyFy has released a new Krypton promo image, featuring Scanlan in full makeup and costume as Lobo. To say the least, he looks extremely faithful to the comics. DC Universe Renews TITANS for Season 2
A lot is riding on Titans, the first of several original shows for DC Universe. The series is also the first live action incarnation of the Teen Titans team, while it will take a far more mature tone than your usual DC show. HARLEY QUINN Animated Series Gets a Promo Trailer and All-Star Voice Cast
DC Universe opened up New York Comic-Con in style last night, dropping plenty of news for its original shows. One of the highlights is the Harley Quinn animated series. Not only do we have our first footage from the show, but we now have an all-star voice cast. The Big Bang Theory star Kaley Cuoco is voicing Harleen Quinzel in the series, with Lake Bell playing Poison Ivy. Meanwhile, Diedrich Bader is reprising his role as Batman from The Brave and the Bold. The rest of the cast includes Alan Tudyk, Ron Funches, J.B. TITANS Will Stream Internationally on Netflix; New Trailer Released
When DC Universe first launched, fans were quick to point out that it is only available in the United States. So, how will international viewers be able to watch original shows like Titans? Well, we finally have an answer. Netflix has acquired the international distribution rights to Titans. The service will stream the series in countries outside of the United States and China (where Netflix is unavailable). Arrowverse Crossover Gets a Title, Adds The Monitor
A lot of details on this year’s Arrowverse crossover are being kept under wraps. The three-episode event will feature Batwoman, Superman, Lois Lane, Nora Fries, and more characters. We will also be visiting Gotham City and Arkham Asylum. Now, we know what the title is, while a key DC character has been cast. This year’s crossover event is titled “Elseworlds.” Any diehard DC Comics fan will immediately identify that name. Traditionally, Elseworlds was the name of a banner for non-canon stories by DC. Welcome back to the latest round of TV News Bits. This installment is mostly DC-centric, but we have a good update for a hit Marvel Netflix series too. HBO’s Watchmen series has recruited Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross to compose the score. The two have worked together for a few years now, including their collaborations with director David Fincher. HBO Orders WATCHMEN to Series, Sets 2019 Premiere
After years in development, HBO’s Watchmen pilot finally went into production a few months ago. Now, we know when the pilot – and the rest of the season – will premiere. HBO has confirmed that Watchmen has been given a full series order. It will premiere sometime in 2019. No word on an episode count yet. In addition, the network released a plot logline from the series. Set in an alternate history where “superheroes” are treated as outlaws, Watchmen embraces the nostalgia of the original groundbreaking graphic novel while attempting to break new ground of its own. We have a couple of big DC TV casting updates. DC Universe has found the titular hero of its next original series, while this year’s Arrowverse crossover now has a villain. The Goldbergs actress Brec Bassinger is set to star as Courtney Whitmore in Stargirl, a new show on DC Universe. The series revolves around Whitmore, a high school sophomore who is adjusting to a new school in Blue Valley, Nebraska.
