Fox Sets Release Dates for Six Untitled Marvel Movies
Without a doubt, the X-Men franchise is one of the most important at 20th Century Fox. In addition to two trilogies and two Wolverine movies, the studio recently launched the wildly successful Deadpool and Hugh Jackman’s last Wolverine outing, Logan. Fox also tried to relaunch Fantastic Four a couple years ago, but the less we say about that, the better.
Next year, Fox will release a whopping three X-Men-related films: New Mutants, Deadpool 2 and X-Men: Dark Phoenix. And now, the studio has set released dates for a lot more movies.
Fox (via Exhibitor Relations) has updated its release schedule, adding release dates for six untitled Marvel movies that span from 2019 to 2021.
- June 7th, 2019
- November 22nd, 2019
- March 13th, 2020
- June 26th, 2020
- October 2nd, 2020
- March 5th, 2021
Obviously, the next step is to speculate what these movies are. Fox has been developing several X-Men projects for a while, including Gambit and X-Force. There has also been interest in bringing back X-23 from Logan, as well as exploring Alpha Flight and Exiles. So, it wouldn’t be shocking if at least some of those movies are included. Other possibilities include Deadpool 3, a New Mutants sequel, the next main X-Men film, and that rumored Fantastic Four reboot. And who knows, Fox could even explore some of its other Marvel properties here, like Silver Surfer.
Hopefully, the studio will announce at least some of these titles sooner than later. What do you think these untitled moves are?
