SUPERGIRL Season 4 Will Have More Brainiac-5, Less Winn
We have a couple casting shifts for Supergirl‘s fourth season, ahead of Monday’s finale. One fan-favorite character has been promoted, while we’ll be seeing less of an original character. First up, The CW has announced (via TV Line) that Jesse Rath’s Brainiac-5 will be a series regular next season. “Brainy” is a member of the Legion of Superheroes, alongside Mon-El and Imra. He has been an ally to Kara and the team, and he will return again in the finale. Two THE FLASH Characters Promoted
According to Deadline and TVline, Hartley Sawyer (Ralph Dibney) and Danielle Nicolet (Cecille Horton) have both been upped from recurring roles to series regular roles on The CW’s The Flash. Ralph was rescued from The Thinker’s brain when we last saw him. We aren’t quite sure what the results will be from him being merged with the other metas, so that will be interesting to see if he deals with other powers than his stretchiness. CAPTAIN MARVEL Recruits Composer Pinar Toprak
Marvel Studios’ first 2019 blockbuster, Captain Marvel, is currently in the final weeks of production. This week, we have confirmation of the composer for this movie’s score. Composer Pinar Toprak announced on Instagram that she is scoring Captain Marvel. She is the first female composer to take on a major superhero movie, Marvel or otherwise. New AQUAMAN Stills Reveal the Villainous Black Manta and Orm
Entertainment Weekly is exploring the world of DC Films’ Aquaman in this week’s issue. In addition to the covers we saw earlier, the magazine debuted several still images from the movie. Some of them offer long-awaited first looks at the film’s villains, Black Manta and Orm. The Black Manta picture sees David Kane (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) working on his helmet, which is very faithful to the comic book version. However, Kane is a new name for him, as he was previously surnamed Hyde in the comics. And yes, he will shoot red plasma beams out of his eyes. After a long time waiting, marketing has finally begun for DC Films’ next entry, Aquaman. While a trailer is expected to drop soon, today we have the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly, which spotlights the movie as its cover story. The first cover features a closeup of Jason Momoa’s titular hero, while the second cover sees him joined by Amber Heard’s Mera and Nicole Kidman’s Atlanna. ANT-MAN AND THE WASP Tracking for a $75 Million Opening Weekend
At this point, everyone knows that a Marvel movie is going to make a ton of money. That looks to be the case with its next title, Ant-Man and The Wasp, which has hit tracking boards this week. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ant-Man and The Wasp is tracking to gross $75 million in its opening weekend. Warner Bros. Announces Start of Production for WONDER WOMAN 1984
Warner Bros. has announced today that the highly anticipated Wonder Woman sequel has begun production. The press release offers a lot of new details, such as the title and the return of a key character. The new movie is titled Wonder Woman 1984, confirming rumors of its 1980s setting. The studio has also confirmed that Chris Pine will reprise his role in the sequel, despite his death in the first movie. Director Patty Jenkins shared a first-look photo on Twitter. AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR Has Passed $2 Billion Worldwide
Avengers: Infinity War‘s historic opening weekend already cemented it as one of the biggest films in history, but the movie continued to perform exceptionally well every week since. Now, the Marvel Studios ensemble has reached a milestone that very few films ever have. The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that Infinity War has surpassed the $2 billion mark at the worldwide box office. This consists of $656 million domestically and $1.346 billion overseas, bringing its worldwide total to $2.002 billion. New SPIDER-MAN PS4 Gameplay Footage Introduces New Villains
During Sony’s E3 presentation last night, a new look at Marvel’s Spider-Man was shown. In the seven-minute gameplay reel, the Web-Slinger deals with a prison break, only to face a few of his greatest villains. We see Electro, Rhino, Vulture, Scorpion, and Negative Man unite to take on Spidey, with hints at a sixth villain behind the scenes.
