For a long time, fans have wanted to see Arrow and its spin-off series The Flash linked to the growing DC Cinematic Universe. After Man of Steel created a world where other DC heroes can exist, the universe is being fully expanded with 2016’s Batman v. Appearing at TCA 2014 today, CW President Mark Pedowitz promised plenty of crossovers between the series and its spin-off, The Flash. “You will see — organically — characters shifting over, villains shifting over back and forth between ‘Flash’ and ‘Arrow.’ We will be introducing more villains that are part of the DC Comics universe.” He then revealed that the network “occasionally” talks to Warner Bros. about potentially connecting the two shows to the DC Cinematic Universe, but it’s ultimately up to the studio. TV Guide has learned that, despite the character returning to the League of Assassins in the Season 2 premiere, Caity Lotz’ Sara Lance/Canary will return in the Season 3 premiere. It’s unknown how she suddenly reappears, but the next couple of tidbits make it even more interesting. THE FLASH Casts IRON MAN 3’s William Sadler As Simon Stagg
With filming on the second episode of The Flash underway, we have yet another exciting new addition to its cast. After being spotted on the set of the Arrow spin-off, Iron Man 3 actor William Sadler has confirmed (via Flash TV News) that he will play Simon Stagg in “Fastest Man Alive.” Stagg is the CEO of Stagg Industries, which was previously referenced on Arrow. In the comics, he played a key role in Rex Mason’s transformation into Metamorpho. Arrow has also featured a couple of Metamorpho Chemical Easter eggs. Gotham is an upcoming American superhero television series created by Bruno Heller, based on characters appearing in and published by DC Comics, specifically those of Detective James Gordon and Bruce Wayne, who were created by Bob Kane, and others in the famous Batman franchise.
