GOTHAM: Donal Logue Actually Offered ‘Harvey Bullock’ Role

This week, it was reported that Sons of Anarchy and Blade actor Donal Logue was offered the role of Jim Gordon in Fox’s Gotham television series. However, it was immediately denied by Logue himself, who said that the show’s version of Gordon will be in his late 20’s. Logue is 47. Now, Latino Review‘s El Mayimbe has updated his original story, saying that Gordon was not the role offered to Logue. Instead, the actor has been offered the part of Detective Harvey Bullock. In the pilot, Bullock is in his 40s (Logue’s age range), and is described as Gordon’s mentor. Mayimbe then apologized to Logue on Twitter for the confusion, with the actor saying, “ha! No problem. It’s only bad if they ain’t talking about you.” Since he hasn’t denied the updated story, it’s safe to assume that there’s at least some truth to it.
In addition to focusing on Gordon working his way through Gotham PD, Gotham will also feature iconic villains from the Batman mythology, including Joker, Catwoman and Penguin. A young Bruce Wayne will also be a part of the series, which intends to follow his journey to become the Batman. Gotham will likely premiere on Fox next fall.
