Arrow, Season 4, Episode 1 ‘Green Arrow’ Review
[Warning: This is a full spoiler review.] After an overall underwhelming 3rd season, Arrow Season 4 kicks things off with an entirely fresh take. Oliver and Felicity have settled in to a suburban lifestyle, and are trying to live a domesticated life, having brunch with neighbors, and learning to become better cooks. Oliver still wears a green hoodie from time to time, but he’s gotten the dragon tattoo that memorialized Shado removed as he tries to move beyond his past life, and he’s even preparing to propose to Felicity. Unfortunately, the fresh take stops there. Things are not so different in the city formerly known as Starling city. Some things…

Zack Snyder Discusses MAN OF STEEL 2 and Over-Saturation of Superhero Films!
Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice? More like Man of Steel 2 according to Zack Snyder! This wasn’t the only thing Snyder had to say in a recent interview with jam.canoe.com, as he also talked about the future of Man of Steel 2 and the over-saturation of superhero films. When asked if he ever thought he was going to direct Justice League one day, he had this to say- “At that point I was really into The Dark Knight Returns.I don’t know that I thought about it in those terms, but if you told me that I might make a Justice League movie, I wouldn’t think that that was weird.…

Arrow, Episode 23, ‘My Name is Oliver Queen’ Review
One thing that has remained reliably about Arrow is that the show always delivers when it has to. Fortunately, the Season 3 finale is one of the better episodes this season. It’s just too bad that episodes of this quality were not the norm for most of the season. “My Name is Oliver Queen” does provide justification for the rolloercoaster of seemingly poor decisions made by various characters up until this point, but it still doesn’t provide ex post facto improvement to the majority of the rest of the season. The big questions for this episode were how Oliver was going to get out of this situation, but even more…

Arrow, Season 3, Episode 18, ‘Public Enemy’ Review
The following is a review for Arrow, Season 3, Episode 18, “Public Enemy.” There will be spoilers. As Ra’s al Ghul turns Starling City against The Arrow, Oliver finds himself backed into a corner where he must decide what The Arrow truly stands for, and which direction he should choose when there are only two options remaining. Although Season 3 has been a far cry from much of what was accomplished in Season 2 when it comes to writing and story arc, there has been a noticeable slow and steady climb to a place where the payoff is beginning to have value. This is especially the case with this episode,…

Arrow, Season 3, Episode 15, ‘Nanda Parbat’ Review
[This is a review for Arrow season 3, episode 14: Uprising. There will be spoilers.] Now that many of the secrets being harbored by various members of Team Arrow have been revealed, the story is moving forward again, as Oliver continues to pursue a second match with Ra’s al Ghul. After several weeks of sub-bar storytelling, Arrow is finally picking back up. This episode appears to have begun to regain some of the self awareness that has been lacking since the end of season 2. The flashbacks are a little more sensible, the drama less drawn out, and it feels like the plot is actually moving forward again. As Thea…

Arrow Season 3, Episode 14, ‘The Return’ Review
[This is a review for Arrow season 3, episode 14: Uprising. There will be spoilers.] Oliver’s return to Starling is fairly short-lived, as he almost immediately takes off again—this time with Thea—to do some training back on Lian Yu. The two siblings don’t get much time in before it’s discovered that Slade Wilson has escaped from his inescapable prison, and is free on the island, setting up another showdown with Deathstroke. Unfortunately, the arrow misses the mark in almost every way possible in this episode. Most things that happen almost completely lack justification, and the episode plays out more like a piece of fan fiction than the show we grew…

Arrow Season 3, Episode 12 “Uprising” Review
[This is a review for Arrow season 3, episode 12: Uprising. There will be spoilers.] To this point, the episodes since the midseason premier have focused more on Felicity, using her to tell the story of how any why people make the sacrafice that it is to be a hero. This episode shows the other side of the coin and what it looks like when someone approaches justice from the wrong angle, putting the wight of the episode on John Borrowman’s shoulders to tell the story of how Malcom Merlyn became the Dark Archer. Meanwhile, on the other side of the world, we get to see Oliver’s all-too soon return…

Arrow Season 3, Episode 10, ‘Left Behind’ Review
[The following is a review for Arrow season 3, episode 10, ‘Left Behind.’ There will be spoilers.] After the events of the midseason finale, Arrow viewers were left with several weeks of speculation as to the full extent of Oliver Queen’s fate at the hands of Ra’s al Ghul. Oliver was very clearly stabbed and dumped off a cliff the last time we saw him, so the question of when and how he’ll recover is top of mind, right alongside the question: how will Starling City get by without him? This episode answers both questions, jumping right into the second one, focusing on (s the title states) those left behind…

Arrow, Season 3, Episode 9, ‘The Climb,’ Review
Wow. What a first half of Arrow season 3. This episode was actually very accurate sample of the season as a whole so far. It has yet to meet the high bar set by the last season, but there have also been some huge moments, as well as a very successful crossover. If you haven’t seen Season 3, Episode 9: The Climb yet, you should do that before reading this, as I do not shy away from some major spoilers. Despite having one the the biggest cliffhangers in recent TV memory, the rest of the episode seemed very lacking. They attempted to use the time hops (we were basically playing…
