Did the New BATMAN V SUPERMAN Trailer Really “Spoil” Everything?
Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice has received a lot of push-back since its announcement. First, people didn’t like the concept. “Why would Batman and Superman fight? Superman would totally destroy Batman?” Then there was the casting decisions, specifically Ben Affleck as Batman and Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor. Then there’s the complaints of it being overly grimdark compared to Marvel movies. Thanks to the trailers, most of those complaints have since been settled, but created a new one: “They ruined everything.” Upon watching the newest trailer, many have complained that the whole thing is just a condensed outline of the movie. We get the first act: Clark Kent, Bruce…

Arrow, Season 4, Episode 7, ‘Brotherhood’ Review
[This is a full spoiler review for Arrow Season 4, Episode 7, so be warned.] Arrow’s doing something new. A lot of things new, actually, although you wouldn’t believe it when the episode opens with a truck heist. Or when that heist is stopped by a mob of masked vigilantes. Or when some characters make stubborn decisions that don’t seem to make any sense.Despite all these tired cliches that have come to personify this show, it is actually going in some fresh and new directions.First, before I get to the actual episode, my hat is off to Gordon Verheul. Gordon has directed almost 2 dozen episodes of Arrow at this…

Arrow, Season 4, Episode 5, ‘Haunted’ Review

Ben Affleck Addresses Possibility of Directing a BATMAN Solo Film
As we all know, Ben Affleck is one of the biggest stars, if not the biggest star, of the DCEU. Being the star means making room in your schedule for two Justice League movies, Wonder Woman (Rumored), and any other DCEU properties he may appear in besides the Batman solo movies. With all of these movies plus any other movies outside the DCEU, Affleck decides to star in or direct has made people skeptical that Affleck has time to direct a Batman solo movie. In a recent interview with Total Film (via Latino-Review), Ben Affleck shed some light on him directing the Batman movie/movies. “If I could make it work,…

Arrow, Season 4, Episode 2, ‘The Candidate,’ Review
[This is a full review, and there will be spoilers.] After the season 4 premier episode puts Team Arrow right back where we left them, episode 2 wastes no time in introducing new plot elements. While many appear quite promising for the long haul of season 4, one can’t help but feel some of the extra threads could also become cumbersome quite quickly. Whereas episode 1 was very much focused on the lack of leadership and the void left by the absence of The Arrow, episode 2 is very much about Leadership. Jessica Danforth decides to run for Mayor, Felicity struggles to convince the Palmer Technologies board of directors (and…
