AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR Wins a Mighty Second Weekend
As expected, Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War has had a big second weekend. In fact, it has the second-biggest sophomore weekend in history.
Per THR, Infinity War is grossing an estimated $112.5 million this weekend. This marks a 56% drop from its opening weekend, which is on par with past Marvel movies. This narrowly beats Black Panther ($111.7 million) for second place, and it’s behind only Star Wars: The Force Awakens ($149.2 million).
Overseas, Infinity War took in another $162.6 million, bringing its worldwide total to a mighty $1.16 billion. This already puts it in Marvel’s top five after just a few days in theaters. And the film isn’t out in China until Friday; that will surely give it a huge boost.
