Production began last week on The Flash‘s fourth season. So far, we don’t have a whole lot of plot details. The Thinker/Clifford DeVoe will serve as this year’s main villain, while Barry Allen still needs to be freed from the Speed Force. (That’ll probably be resolved in one or two episodes.) In the meantime, we have some casting breakdowns for some new characters, including DeVoe. That Hashtag Show has shared breakdowns for three new characters who are joining The Flash this season. Each description reveals the character’s background, as well as their role in the season. For example, DeVoe will be a series regular role, and he received his powers…

THE FLASH Season 4 Villain Confirmed, and It’s Exactly Who You Thought It’d Be
The Flash has dealt with a mystery evil speedster as the big bad for three seasons in a row. Fortunately, the show is switching things up for its fourth season. It was previously confirmed that next year’s big bad will not be a speedster. Now, we know who this character is, but if you’ve been paying attention to the last few episodes of season three, you already know. TV Line has confirmed that The Flash‘s big bad for next season is Clifford DeVoe, aka The Thinker. DeVoe was namedropped a couple times near the end of season three, first by Abra Kadabra and then by Savitar (both villains from the…

Robert Zemeckis, Matthew Vaughn and Sam Raimi in Contention to Direct THE FLASH Movie
Following director Rick Famuyiwa’s departure a few months back, Warner Bros. has been taking its time with DC Films’ The Flash. Screenwriter Joby Harold was hired to do a page-one rewrite back in January, but since then, word has been quiet on the Scarlet Speedster’s very first movie. The film will star Ezra Miller as Flash, Kiersey Clemons as Iris West, Billy Crudup as Henry Allen, and Ray Fisher as Cyborg. Well, things are finally heating back up, as three directors are said to be in contention for the gig. The Wrap, Variety, and The Hollywood Reporter have stated that Robert Zemeckis, Matthew Vaughn, and Sam Raimi are all up for the…

THE FLASH Finally Reveals Savitar’s Identity
Like in its first two seasons, The Flash‘s biggest mystery this year has been the man behind the mask of the evil speedster Savitar. There have been a lot of fan theories surrounding his identity, as usual. Plus, the show has really taken its time in building up to the reveal, which certainly tests the patience of its viewers. And last week’s cliffhanger, which saw Savitar reveal himself to Killer Frost (but not to us), only further increased the frustration. But in this week’s episode – Episode 20 of the season, in fact – Savitar’s true identity is finally revealed. While fans may have seen this coming, it is truly…

The Flash: The Doctor is In
The cutthroat is coming to The Flash. According to TV Line, Anne Dudek, House alum has been cast in the ending episodes of The Flash as Tracy Brand, future genius extraordinaire with no idea of her potential. I watched House for years, and Dudek’s character Amber/Cutthroat B I loved because she was virtually the female House and could counter him every step of the way. I can’t wait to see what she brings to The Flash. The Flash is on The CW Tuesdays at 8 pm eastern.

Marc Guggenheim Teases New DC Character in LEGENDS OF TOMORROW Season 3; Expect Less Time Travel in THE FLASH Season 4
Here, we have more tidbits from The CW’s big Arrowverse panel at PaleyFest this past weekend. Rotten Tomatoes spoke with Legends of Tomorrow showrunner Phil Klemmer and producer Marc Guggenheim on the red carpet. There, they offered some new hints for the show’s third season. Legends had some major casting shakeups from its first season, removing original team members and adding new characters in season two. Season three will continue this trend, as new Legends will join the Waverider crew. Guggenheim confirms that one of these characters will be a pre-existing DC character…but with a catch. Guggenheim cryptically teases, “We’re drawing on an established character who is not from the…

At PaleyFest this weekend (via TV Line), executive producer Andrew Kreisberg confirmed that the big bad of The Flash season four will not be a speedster. This is a first for the show. THE FLASH Movie Hires a New Screenwriter
Last year, development on DC Films’ The Flash hit a stumbling block with the departure of director Rick Famuyiwa. The filmmaker exited the project over “creative differences,” resulting in a delay in production and likely release. Since then, we haven’t gotten a lot of updates on this movie. But now, a script rewrite is underway. According to Variety, King Arthur: Legend of the Sword scribe Joby Harold is doing a page-one rewrite on The Flash. Warner Bros. has apparently been taking its time with finding a new director, and star Ezra Miller is prepping to shoot the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them sequel this year. In the meantime,…
