THOR: RAGNAROK is Now the Highest Grossing THOR Movie to Date
Marvel Studios’ Thor: Ragnarok is now in its second week of release in North America, and third week in other countries. The film has been earning a ton of money, no doubt fueled by glowing reviews from fans and critics. Now, the sequel has already surpassed a key milestone.
According to BoxOfficeMojo, Ragnarok grossed an estimated $56.6 million in its second weekend, easily maintaining the #1 spot. Its box office intake this week has pushed the film to $650.1 million, already making it the highest grossing Thor movie to date, surpassing The Dark World‘s $645 million. At $211.6 million, Ragnarok is also the biggest Thor movie in North America.
As for the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Ragnarok is the 12th biggest title domestically and the 10th highest grosser worldwide. It should keep going higher and higher over the next few weeks. Overall, this is yet another accomplishment for Marvel Studios, finally putting Thor on the same pedestal as the other MCU franchises.
