Review: Castlevania Season One
When I saw the trailer for the third season of Castlevania, I thought to myself: “Why not review the earlier seasons?” So here am, giving my take on Castlevania season one for WOBAM! Entertainment. Castlevania, is an animated series based on legendary video-game of the same name. We follow Trevor Belmont (Richard Armitage), as he gets dragged into the nightmare-fueled war between the creatures of the night. With only four, 25-23 minute episodes, there is only so much you can do; but the team behind this adaptation (Powerhouse Animation Studio) made every second of these episodes count. Like cream and sugar enriches coffee – Powerhouse Animation is able to capture…

Review: DRAGON QUEST: YOUR STORY is a Car Crashing at Mach-5 Speed
Dragon Quest: Your Story is loosely based on the fifth game, Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavily Bride. Here we follow Luca, as he tries to live up to his father’s (the mighty Pankraz) reputation. A couple of months ago, I reviewed Dragon Quest XI S for Revenge of the Fans. Because of this, I could not help myself, and had to check out the animated movie on Netflix. Fast-forward two hours later, and I wasn’t sure what I just witnessed. Dragon Quest: Your Story is a prime example that some games work better as a television series than a movie. While the general tone and essence of Dragon…

Netflix’s THE LAST AIRBENDER – Can It Work?
So, I finally have an excuse to write about Avatar: The Last Airbender (I’ve waited 84 years). With Netflix reviving the hit Nickelodeon series, we have to ask the obvious questions, will it work and do we even need it? Well, let’s sort this thing out. Avatar: The Last Airbender is an animated series that ran on Nickelodeon from 2005-2008. Set in a mystical world where different nations can bend the four natural elements to their will (water, earth, fire, and air), Aang (the last Airbender), has to become the avatar, master of all four elements and bring balance to both the mortal and spiritual worlds. Avatar: The Last Airbender…

THE PUNISHER and JESSICA JONES Cancelled, as the Marvel/Netflix Affair Finally Ends
Netflix played the role of grim reaper last year, suddenly ending most of its Marvel television slate. Iron Fist, Luke Cage, and Daredevil all got the axe, while The Defenders was never meant to continue beyond one season. And now, Netflix has confirmed the future (or lack thereof) of its final two shows. It has been announced that The Punisher and Jessica Jones have both been cancelled. The former premiered its season season last month. Meanwhile, Jessica Jones‘ third season is still set to debut sometime this year. This marks the official end of the Netflix/Marvel TV deal; every single show has been cancelled. Following the announcement, Marvel TV head Jeph Loeb…

Review: THE PUNISHER Season 2 (2019)
Frank strives to protect a teenager caught in a sinister conspiracy while doing whatever it takes — and then some — to end Russo once and for all. Netflix unleashed the latest live action portrayal of The Punisher in 2017, after his acclaimed role on Daredevil. Netflix quickly ordered a second season, which has arrived at a curious time for the company’s Marvel slate. Three shows – Iron Fist, Luke Cage, and Daredevil – have all been cancelled, while plans for another season of The Defenders are unlikely. So, fans are likely anxious about Frank Castle‘s future. Fortunately, if this really is the end, then The Punisher‘s second season is a solid,…

THE PUNISHER Season 2 Gets a Premiere Date and First Promo Trailer
Marvel’s The Punisher was a hit on Netflix back in 2017, with a second season being ordered shortly afterwards. Now, marketing has finally begun, as Netflix has announced the premiere date for season two. Spoiler: It’s going to be very soon. The Punisher season two will be released on Friday, January 18th. To announce the date, Netflix released a promo trailer featuring Frank Castle and returning foe Billy Russo, who has a new look after his facial injuries in season one. DAREDEVIL Has Been Cancelled by Netflix
Netflix’s severance of its relationship with Marvel continues. After cancelling Iron Fist and Luke Cage, the streaming platform has now ended its original Marvel series. Daredevil has been cancelled after a three-season run. The show premiered its critically acclaimed third season just last month, and fans have been anxious for a fourth season. Unfortunately, that isn’t happening…at least on Netflix. Netflix released the following statement on the news. “Marvel’s Daredevil will not return for a fourth season on Netflix. We are tremendously proud of the show’s last and final season and although it’s painful for the fans, we feel it best to close this chapter on a high note. We’re thankful…

How LUKE CAGE and IRON FIST’s Stories Can Continue After Netflix Cancellations
Netflix recently made headlines with the decision to cancel two of its Marvel shows, Iron Fist and Luke Cage. Fans have talked a lot about the news, why the shows got cancelled, and what it means for the rest of Netflix’s Marvel slate. But one big question remains: What is the future of Iron Fist and Luke Cage in the MCU? In the announcement on Iron Fist‘s cancellation, it was said that the character will “live on,” which led to speculation about a revival for Disney Play. Meanwhile, there hasn’t been anything on a potential comeback for Luke Cage yet. But both shows have plenty of potential for more stories, especially…
