It’s Official: Joaquin Phoenix Will Play The Joker
A while back, it was reported that Joaquin Phoenix was in talks to star in Warner Bros.’ Joker origin movie, which will kick off a slate of non-canon DC movies. While sites suggested that Phoenix was likely to close the deal, the actor has approached multiple comic book roles before turning them down. However, it’s now official. WB has confirmed that Phoenix will play The Joker in the movie, which will kick off production in September. The film will have a $55 million budget and is a gritty crime drama that reimagines Joker’s origin. While a release date isn’t confirmed yet, The Hollywood Reporter suggests that it could be ready as…

You may also know Hounsou for his roles in Amistad, Gladiator (“I will see you again but not yet, not yet.”) and even 2005’s Constantine, where he played Papa Midnite. Director James Wan calls Black Manta a “part mercenary but full-time pirate,”…

Why Warner Bros. Should Still Make a JUSTICE LEAGUE Sequel
It’s been a few months, and DC Films’ Justice League has come and gone. The film received lukewarm reviews and underperformed at the box office; in fact, Warner Bros. lost money on it. Thus, it’d be surprising if the studio spent another dime on the movie, even for the mysterious “Snyder Cut.” But what about a sequel? WB originally announced a second Justice League movie in 2014, back when the plan was to tell the story over two parts. However, the studio abbreviated it to the one movie. And now that the movie didn’t make money, that decreases the chances of any sort of follow-up. I’m probably the only person…
