Executive Producer Andrew Kreisberg Talks Untitled ARROW/THE FLASH Spin-Off Series
Following the success of Arrow and The Flash, The CW is further expanding its DC universe with a new spin-off starring characters from both shows. Currently, the “superhero team-up” – which does not have an official title yet – will star Ray Palmer/Atom, Martin Stein, and Leonard Snart/Captain Cold. Three unnamed DC characters will also make their live action television debuts in the show. Additionally, Caity Lotz, whose Arrow character Sara Lance died at the beginning of this season, will return for this spin-off. How? Executive producer Andrew Kreisberg has weighed in.
Speaking with GreenArrowTV at PaleyFest 2015, Kreisberg reveals when we’ll know more about the team-up series, particularly regarding Sara’s return. “I think by the Spring, you’ll know. We want to keep some surprises going, but we’re really excited about that series…. just to add another leg to the tripod, and complete it.” He adds, “We’ll get to see some of the characters that we’ve seen and introduce a whole bunch of new characters, and show them all in a different way, and have the show really feel different. As different as Flash feels from Arrow, this new show will feel different from both of them.”
As for when an official title will be announced, Kreisberg is unsure, saying that the top priority right now is assembling the cast. “I don’t know. It’s still very early in the process on that. We had to make sure to get as much of the cast set as we could before we sat down to break this mega-series with all of these characters, rather than be do that and have people say they’re not interested.”
Stay tuned for more official news as we have it. Both The Flash and Arrow return this week with new episodes on The CW.
