Awesome Gameplay Trailer for INJUSTICE 2 Released
A few days ago, NetherRealm Studios confirmed that an Injustice: Gods among Us sequel is in the works. The game, simply titled Injustice 2, will be released on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in 2017. We saw the cinematic trailer, and now, we have a gameplay trailer. This short trailer offers a first look at Injustice 2‘s gameplay. Spotlighted are Supergirl vs. Atrocitus, Aquaman vs. Gorilla Grodd, and Batman vs. Superman. Plus, a beloved Aquaman villain makes his Injustice debut. Lorne Balfe Hired to Score THE LEGO BATMAN MOVIE
Warner Bros. will release The LEGO Batman Movie early next year. Chris McKay directs from a script by Seth Grahame-Smith. The film is a spin-off from the wildly successful The LEGO Movie, with Will Arnett reprising his role as the Caped Crusader. Now, the movie has a composer. According to Film Music Reporter, composer Lorne Balfe is set to create the musical score for The LEGO Batman Movie. Balfe has previously scored films such as Penguins of Madagascar, Home and Terminator Genisys. He is also a frequent collaborator with the great Hans Zimmer. Stay tuned for more news as we have it. Vicki Vale is Coming to GOTHAM Season 3; Casting Underway for New FLASH Character
Gotham is looking to cast a few new characters for its third season, including the villainous Mad Hatter. Now, another key supporting character in Batman’s mythology is set to appear on the prequel series. TV Line has confirmed that Vicki Vale will pop up in Gotham next season. She is described as an “ambitious young journalist,” and she will be in her late 20s. Traditionally, Vicki is a love interest of Bruce Wayne’s. But since Bruce is just a teenager on Gotham, don’t expect any romance between the two. This marks the character’s third live action portrayal. With Suicide Squad hitting theaters in two months, Warner Bros. is ramping up its marketing campaign. The studio is producing plenty of merchandise, advertisements and more for the next DC film. SUPERGIRL Casting Five New Characters for Season 2
Supergirl is moving to The CW for its second season, and it looks to be another big year for Kara Zor-El. It was announced this week that Superman will finally appear in the flesh next season. But Kal-El isn’t the only new character popping up. According to TV Line, casting is underway for five new characters in Supergirl next season. Warner Bros. to Screen BATMAN: THE KILLING JOKE in Select Theaters on July 25th
DC Entertainment’s animated movies have all been released direct-to-video up to this point. However, that’s about to change with the next installment, Batman: The Killing Joke. Warner Bros. has announced that The Killing Joke will be screened in select theaters for one night only, on Monday, July 25th. The exact locations have yet to be confirmed. Tickets go on sale Friday, June 17th. In addition to the film, the screenings will contain a documentary focused on star Mark Hamill, as well as a behind-the-scenes feature. The development of a sequel to Injustice: Gods Among Us was perhaps one of the worst kept secrets in video gaming this year. SUICIDE SQUAD Officially Gets its PG-13 Rating
Warner Bros. previously confirmed that Suicide Squad, along with every other upcoming DC film, is targeting a PG-13 rating. This came after speculation amongst fans on whether this would be an R-rated installment. Now, MPAA has confirmed (via Box Office Mojo) the PG-13 rating, along with the reason for it. Suicide Squad has been rated PG-13 for “sequences of violence and action throughout, disturbing behavior, suggestive content and language.” So, pretty much exactly what we expected. Vixen Joins DC’s LEGENDS OF TOMORROW Season 2, But There’s a Big Twist
Vixen stars in her own animated series on CW Seed, and in her live action debut, she guest starred on an episode of Arrow last season. Megalyn Echikunwoke played the character in both mediums. Now, Vixen will appear on one of The CW’s other DC shows. According to TV Insider, Vixen will be a series regular on DC’s Legends of Tomorrow next season. However, it won’t be the same Vixen we met before. Echikunwoke is unable to reprise the role due to scheduling conflicts. But, instead of recasting, Legends will bring in a second, “old” Vixen. James Wan Explains Why He Chose to Direct AQUAMAN Over THE FLASH
Director James Wan was hired to helm DC Films’ Aquaman last year, but that was not the only DC movie he considered. In an interview with Uproxx, Wan reveals that he chose between Aquaman and one of DC’s other 2018 outings, The Flash. When asked why he declined to direct The Flash, Wan explains, “This is how I weighed it: For me, we’ve seen various versions of The Flash…There’s a popular show on TV and there was a great one in the ’90s.” As for Aquaman, however, there aren’t as many versions of him, and people don’t feel as strongly about him as they do with, say, Batman and Superman.…
