ARROW’s Black Canary to Guest Star on THE FLASH, With a Big Twist
Looks like we’re getting at least one more mini The Flash/Arrow crossover this season. At a recent press screening (via Entertainment Weekly), Arrow executive producer Marc Guggenheim confirms that Katie Cassidy’s Laurel Lance will guest star on The Flash later this season. But this won’t be the Laurel we know, as Guggenheim reveals, “You will see her on an episode of The Flash playing the Earth-2 version of Laurel Lance.”
On Earth-2, Laurel Lance becomes the Black Siren instead of the Black Canary. In the Justice League animated series, Black Siren is a member of the Justice Guild, a superhero team in an alternate reality. The group is a homage to the Justice Society of America. Black Siren’s debut will be in the penultimate episode of The Flash, which airs on May 17th.
Additionally, Katie Cassidy will reprise the role of Black Canary on animated spinoff Vixen, which is currently producing a second season.
