Review: Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2: Awesome Mix Vol. 2
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2: Awesome Mix Vol. 2 is the soundtrack for the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 film. These songs are all featured in the film or in the trailers. In the world of the Guardians of the Galxy, these songs are all on Peter Quill A.K.A Star-Lord’s (Chris Pratt) mixtape. The music was personally chosen by director James Gunn. He has great taste. What’s great about the first and second Awesome Mix’s is that James Gunn used the Marvel Cinematic Universe as a platform for older songs and artists. Songs and artists that older generations forgot about and young people were clueless about…

Katrina Law Returning to ARROW This Season
The Daughter of the Demon is returning to Arrow for episode sixteen this season, titled “The Thanatos Guild,” according to Variety. The episode is said to be one that will change Arrow forever, as Nyssa (played by Katrina Law) will come to Star City with news of an impending danger that will affect everyone on the show. When we last saw Nyssa al Ghul on Arrow, she aligned herself with Oliver Queen and others to defeat Adrian Chase (and her sister Talia) on Lian Yu in the season five finale. She, along with (almost) everyone else, escaped the island’s destruction, but we haven’t seen her since. Stay tuned for more…

Should WONDER WOMAN Have Been Nominated at the Oscars?
DC Films’ Wonder Woman was a huge cultural phenomenon last year, becoming one of the biggest films commercially and critically of 2017. It was the first female superhero movie in over a decade, and it resonated incredibly well with female audiences. Simply put, it couldn’t have come out at a more relevant time. The praise was so strong, many expected Wonder Woman to have a presence at this year’s Academy Awards. But, alas, the film did not get a single Oscar nomination. As a result, many criticized the Oscars for snubbing Wonder Woman, spawning much discussion. But this brings up the question: Should the movie have been nominated at the…

Filming has been underway on Sony’s Venom movie for a few months, but there’s still a lot we don’t know about it. For example, who are actors Jenny Slate and Scott Haze playing in the film? Well, a new rumor may have the answer to that one. According to MCUExchange, Jenny Slate is playing Dora Skirth, a scientist who works at Life Foundation, a company that plays a big role in Venom. It sounds like Skirth is an original character, but it’s possible she could be an amalgamation of several minor characters from the comics. FLASH SPOILER Review: Episode 4×11- “The Elongated Knight Rises”
The Flash (4×11) – “The Elongated Knight Rises” Written by: Sterling Gates & Thomas Pound Directed by: Alexandra La Roche Okay, last week the producers made the bold choice to put Barry in jail so I guess it’s time to start dealing with that. We start off with pretty typical TV prison stuff since Barry’s been in the hole exactly a week and there’s already a prison riot. Barry takes care of that which is good because Joe’s taking care of a hostage situation with the help of Ralph. It’s okay, Ralph since this guy learned about hostage negotiations by watching the original Robocop. Unfortunately, Ralph and Cisco…

Hans Zimmer to Score X-MEN: DARK PHOENIX
In a (pleasantly) surprising bit of news, Hans Zimmer will be scoring X-Men: Dark Phoenix. Evan Peters, who is reprising his role as Quicksilver in the film, perhaps accidentally spilled the beans on an episode of Josh Horowitz’s HappySadConfused podcast saying the following when discussing the Simon Kinberg-directed film: “[The set] was actually very tame. Simon directed this one, and came in very prepared, very professional. It was a different energy on set and everything got done like clockwork. It was very seamless. Everybody was a little bit more level-headed, so it was a very pleasurable, light experience. I think the film is gonna be incredible. Hans Zimmer’s scoring it—I don’t…

Marvel Entertainment President Addresses Company's Future with Netflix
Since 2015, Marvel Television has produced six shows for Netflix: Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, The Defenders, and The Punisher. While all of these shows (except for Defenders) have been renewed for new seasons, Marvel’s future at Netflix has been unclear. Disney is launching its own streaming service next year, with a new Marvel show reportedly set there. And with Disney looking to acquire Fox (and thus, a majority of Hulu), the studio is expected to compete with Netflix. So, what does that mean for the Marvel shows? Bloomberg published a piece on the vulnerability of superhero TV shows, and included is a comment from Marvel Entertainment president…

DEADPOOL 2 Trailer Reportedly Arriving on Valentine's Day
So far, we’ve seen one trailer for Fox’s Deadpool sequel, which was just a Bob Ross parody video and only included a few seconds of actual movie footage. With the film now hitting theaters two weeks earlier, the marketing campaign is expected to ramp up very soon. Now, we may know when the next trailer is coming.
