BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE Grosses $23.4M in Third Weekend, Nearing $300M Domestically

This is the third weekend of release for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and the Zack Snyder-directed film has (very) narrowly lost the top spot at the box office to new release The Boss.

According to Variety, the comedy movie, starring Melissa McCarthy, grossed an estimated $23.5 million in its opening weekend. Meanwhile, Batman v Superman made $23.4 million – a mere $100,000 difference. Of course, these are just initial estimates, and with final numbers coming tomorrow, this could easily change.

This weekend’s gross for Batman v Superman is a 54% drop from last week’s. As of right now, the film has grossed $296.7 million domestically, surpassing Man of Steel ($291 million). It should pass the $300 million mark sometime this week.

Internationally, Batman v Superman has made $486.8 million. Combine that with its domestic total, and the movie is at $783.5 million. So, it’s gonna surpass the $800 million mark this week.

Stay tuned for more updates as we have them.
