Review: THE DEATH OF SUPERMAN
Directed By: Sam Liu, Jake Castorena Based Upon: “The Death of Superman” by DC Comics Wow. Just wow. The End. JUST KIDDING. The non-spoiler review is below. I might do a spoiler review after the movie is out on all platforms. I was enormously impressed with this film. The DC Animated Movie Universe has neverrr caught my eye in the slightest, but this one really takes everything I hated from the last movies and tosses out the window. We get to see a more balanced Clark Kent, yet also a more… troubled Clark. Gah this is hard to do without so many spoilers. I wish we’d had this fight with…

SHAZAM! Gets a Composer; Director Talks Dr. Sivana’s Origin and Black Adam
Today, we have a few news bits related to New Line Cinema’s DC film, Shazam!, which was a highlight at the studio’s San Diego Comic-Con panel last weekend. First up, Film Music Reporter confirms that composer Benjamin Wallfisch is scoring Shazam! for director David F. Sandberg. He has worked on Sandberg’s two other feature films, Lights Out and Annabelle: Creation, so this latest collaboration makes sense. Wallfisch’s other credits include Blade Runner 2049 (working alongside Hans Zimmer) and next year’s Hellboy reboot. Meanwhile, Sandberg has talked about his movie’s approach to villains. The main antagonist will be Dr. Sivana, played by Mark Strong. Entertainment Weekly confirms that, like the comics,…

SHAZAM! Will not Reference Captain Marvel Title
There has been some confusion as of late when it comes to the title of Captain Marvel. We have Mar-Vell, Marvel Comics’ original Captain Marvel, we have Billy Batson, DC’s Captain Marvel, and we have Carol Danvers, Marvel’s current Captain Marvel. With both Marvel and DC releasing films starring their respective Captain Marvel’s how will they keep this from getting more confusing? Luckily, Shazam! director David Sandberg will help clear up the confusion. While talking with EW, Sandberg said: Let’s just say we’re going to have a bit of fun with that in the movie, but he’s basically known as Shazam, which makes sense because of the confusion. During Geoff Johns’ New 52 run,…

Review: EDENS ZERO Chapter 3
I’m sorry about this late review. But life and the hottest summer in 260 years got the hold of me. With that said, let’s start it all. In this chapter, we get to know the “guild” that Rebeca is a member off and have Shiki join. If there is any chapter that makes this manga feel like Fairy Tail painted in science fiction color. The only difference is some slight change in the guilds behavior. However, there is a big difference between Edens Zero and Fairytail. Unlike Fairytail, Edens Zero has mystery building up since the first chapter, which has me somewhat intrigued. While the chapter isn’t bad, it’s nothing in…

Manga Review: BURN THE WITCH
Burn the Witch is the latest creation from the creator of Bleach, Tite Kubo. Here in this one shot, we follow Noel Niihashi, one of the many people that are fighting to protect dragons in the street of London. The first thing that makes Burn the Witch rather different to Bleach is the tone. Yes, the manga has some funny moments, but it’s closer to Attack on Titan than Dragon Ball in tone. Burn the Witch, on the other hand, is the reverse. It was a nice change of pace, considering what Kubo previously made. If you are a fan of Kubo’s earlier work, you will recognize it right away. Unlike…

ONE PIECE Live Action TV Show Gets a Writer
In 2017, we got the announcement that One Piece was getting a live-action treatment from the creators of Prison Break. Since then, it has been silent like a crowd during an Adam Sandler comedy show. Today, we have got some information. According to one individual from the editor’s office, a writer has been hired and more info will be announced later this year. As a fan of this source material, I will give this a chance (and probably review it once it is out) but I can’t say that I’m hyped about it. How Loney Tunes meets Pirates of the Caribbean on crack is possible with live action is beyond me. The…
