Netflix played the role of grim reaper last year, suddenly ending most of its Marvel television slate. Iron Fist, Luke Cage, and Daredevil all got the axe, while The Defenders was never meant to continue beyond one season. And now, Netflix has confirmed the future (or lack thereof) of its final two shows. It has been announced that The Punisher and Jessica Jones have both been cancelled. Jessica Jones has lost its showrunner. Melissa Rosenberg will be leaving the series after Warner Bros. offered her an eight figure deal. Under her multi-year deal Rosenberg will help create new television series for WB. The third season of Jessica Jones will be her last. Krysten Ritter Will Direct an Episode of JESSICA JONES Season 3
Season three of Marvel and Netflix’s Jessica Jones recently began production in New York City. While new plot and casting details are currently under wraps, the show’s star will be taking on a new role this season. According to Deadline, series star Krysten Ritter is directing an episode of Jessica Jones this season. This marks the actress’s directorial debut. Netflix Renews JESSICA JONES for Season 3
Marvel premiered the second season of its acclaimed series Jessica Jones last month on Netflix. The show is arguably the most acclaimed Marvel/Netflix series yet. So, it shouldn’t be surprising to hear that season three is a go. Netflix has announced (via THR) that Jessica Jones has been renewed for a third season. No word yet on a release date or when the season will begin production.
