Season three of Marvel and Netflix’s Jessica Jones recently began production in New York City. While new plot and casting details are currently under wraps, the show’s star will be taking on a new role this season.
According to Deadline, series star Krysten Ritter is directing an episode of Jessica Jones this season. This marks the actress’s directorial debut. It’s unknown which exact episode will be directed by Ritter; while unconfirmed, it’s likely that the new season will be 13 episodes long, like the first two seasons.
Ritter has the following statement on the big news. “I am beyond thrilled to make my directorial debut on Marvel’s Jessica Jones. The entire crew and cast has become family to me, and I’m so appreciative of the opportunity to work with our incredible team in this new way. I am so grateful that Melissa Rosenberg, Jeph Loeb, Marvel, and Netflix entrusted me to take the reins.”
Jessica Jones season three will likely launch sometime in 2019 on Netflix. Stay tuned for more news as we have it.
