Review: THE PUNISHER Season 2 (2019)
Frank strives to protect a teenager caught in a sinister conspiracy while doing whatever it takes — and then some — to end Russo once and for all. Netflix unleashed the latest live action portrayal of The Punisher in 2017, after his acclaimed role on Daredevil. Netflix quickly ordered a second season, which has arrived at a curious time for the company’s Marvel slate. Three shows – Iron Fist, Luke Cage, and Daredevil – have all been cancelled, while plans for another season of The Defenders are unlikely. So, fans are likely anxious about Frank Castle‘s future. Fortunately, if this really is the end, then The Punisher‘s second season is a solid,…

“Bye, Felicia” – Netflix Cancels LUKE CAGE
Fresh on the heels of Iron Fist‘s mortalization, another hero had his bulletproof exterior shattered. Late Friday evening, Netflix and Marvel Television announced that Luke Cage would not be returning for its third season. “Unfortunately, Marvel’s Luke Cage will not return for a third season,” the companies said in a statement. “Everyone at Marvel Television and Netflix is grateful to the dedicated showrunner, writers, cast and crew who brought Harlem’s Hero to life for the past two seasons, and to all the fans who have supported the series.” Cage’s small screen journey started as a supporting role in Jessica Jones, before branching off into a solo series and The Defenders…

RETROSPECTIVE REVIEW: DAREDEVIL Season 2
Daredevil Season 3 is only one day away, and your favorite Swedish geek is as hyped towards it as you are. Daredevil is my favorite of the Netflix Marvel shows, even though I still laugh that Matt Murdock is played by the same actor who plays the lead in Mathew Vaughn’s Stardust. This season is arguably the better one, compared to the first. The pace feels a lot smoother, and no arc gets the feeling of not having a closure or being unnecessary. You don’t sit there, find it dragging, and ask why Daredevil is returning when Murdock and Foggy are in a courtroom drama. Every part works for the story…

Review: IRON FIST Seasons 1 and 2
Since I did Luke Cage seasons 1 and 2, I thought I might as well do both seasons of Iron Fist considering the second season is out now. Iron Fist season 1 is one of the worst shows of “television” I’ve seen in years. It feels like a generic Dallas clone with some supernatural elements to it. The fight scenes (which you would argue is a big key to an Iron Fist adaptation) is downright [insert censor beep here]. It also has some of the worst written lines I ever head. However, the worst aspect of the first season is the lead himself. I pulled my hair in frustration on more…

JESSICA JONES Showrunner Leaves The Series
Jessica Jones has lost its showrunner. Melissa Rosenberg will be leaving the series after Warner Bros. offered her an eight figure deal. Under her multi-year deal Rosenberg will help create new television series for WB. The third season of Jessica Jones will be her last. All of my attention remains with the extraordinary cast, writers and production team of Marvel’s Jessica Jones, until the completion of season three, Rosenberg said. As production on Jessica Jones season 3 has already begun. Rosenberg went on to say: It continues to be a career highlight working with my partners at Marvel Television and Netflix. We’re extraordinarily grateful to the viewers who have supported us every…

IRON FIST Season 2 Episode Count is Shorter than Usual for Marvel Netflix Shows
For the past few days, the Iron Fist Twitter account has sent out one tweet per day revealing an episode title from the show’s second season. Well, the tweets have ended, and they reveal something very interesting about the new season. Iron Fist season two will only have 10 episodes. With the exception of The Defenders (which ran for 8 episodes), this is the shortest Marvel Netflix season yet. Every season from the other five shows ran for 13 episodes. No reason was given why they have a shorter season, but a common complaint for these shows is the pacing across 13 episodes, so hopefully that’ll help Iron Fist. Here are…
