Supergirl Casts Vice President in Brent Spiner
Brent Spiner will be recurring as Vice President Baker when Supergirl returns this fall. Baker is “described as “Adept and politically minded”” and proves himself to be an unlikely leader when his country needs him most. Could this be a sign President Marsdin will fall? Hmmmm… Spiner isn’t the first new cast this season for Supergirl, and he probably won’t be the last. Nicole Maines(Nia Nal/Dreamer), Sam Witwer(Agent Liberty), April Parker Jones(Colonel Haley), Rhona Mitra(Mercy Graves), David Ajala(Manchester Black) will all join the cast in series regular or recurring roles this season. And of course, we can’t forget Jesse Rath(Brainy) will be a series regular this season, filling the holes…

Don’t Expect the Dark Knight to Appear in the BATWOMAN Series
The Batwoman series will be the first time we visit Gotham City on The CW. With Batwoman having a strong connection to Batman, many have wondered if the Caped Crusader would finally appear on television. Well, we finally know the answer to that question. After Oliver Queen’s name drop in Arrow season six this might be the only chance for a Batman cameo of some sort. During the Television Critics Association press tour, CW president Mark Pedowitz said: Batman already exists in the Arrowverse, Batwoman lives in Gotham but there are no plans at this time to have Batman appear. It’s worth pointing out that Pedowitz said that “there are no…

BATWOMAN to Start Filming in Spring 2019
With Batwoman appearing in the upcoming Arrowverse crossover, it would only make sense for them to spin her off into her own series. We already knew that a spin-off was in the works, but now we have a filming date. Our friends at GWW recently shared some new information. Batwoman is looking for a spring 2019 start date. We don’t know if it will be shot in Vancouver, where all of the Arrowverse shows are filmed, or possibly in Toronto, where Titans and Suicide Squad filmed. With a Spring shoot, it will likely air sometime next fall, assuming it goes to series. For more news on Batwoman and all things DCTV, stay…

CONSTANTINE: CITY OF DEMONS Movie Coming to Blu-Ray This Fall
CW Seed’s third animated DC series, Constantine: City of Demons, premiered earlier this year. The series brings Matt Ryan’s John Constantine back into the spotlight, despite not being a continuation of the NBC series. While we’ve been waiting on a second season of the show, it looks like that’ll come in the form of a movie. Warner Bros. has announced that Constantine: City of Demons will be released as a movie on Tuesday, October 9th on Blu-Ray, 4K, and digital. The movie version will have an hour of new footage, bringing its runtime to 90 minutes. This is similar to when WB released both seasons of Vixen as a full-length…

IRON FIST Season 2 Episode Count is Shorter than Usual for Marvel Netflix Shows
For the past few days, the Iron Fist Twitter account has sent out one tweet per day revealing an episode title from the show’s second season. Well, the tweets have ended, and they reveal something very interesting about the new season. Iron Fist season two will only have 10 episodes. With the exception of The Defenders (which ran for 8 episodes), this is the shortest Marvel Netflix season yet. Every season from the other five shows ran for 13 episodes. No reason was given why they have a shorter season, but a common complaint for these shows is the pacing across 13 episodes, so hopefully that’ll help Iron Fist. Here are…

SUPERGIRL Adds Rhona Mitra as Mercy Graves for Season 4
Supergirl has made some more additions to its cast for season four, and one of them is a key supporting player in Superman lore. According to Deadline, actress Rhona Mitra has joined Supergirl in the recurring role of Mercy Graves, Lex Luthor’s former bodyguard. This take on Mercy is described as “…an ex-CADMUS agent who has always believed in human exceptionalism. But with both Lex and Lillian in prison, Mercy is stepping out of the Luthor shadow and running her own show. With her biting wit and lethal brawn, Mercy steadily becomes a key figure in National City’s growing ‘human-first’ movement.” Mercy was originally created for Superman: The Animated Series, before…

TV News Bits: The CW Edition
In today’s TV news bits, we’re talking about three shows on The CW! First up: Black Lightning! Black Lightning showrunners and producers Salim and Mara Brock Akil confirmed at San Diego Comic Con that they are trying to build a “Lightningverse” as like the “Arrowverse”. It has been confirmed before that Black Lightning is not a part of the Arrowverse, but with the number of Earths in the Arrowverse, it can be brought in should producers choose to do so. But the Akils are intent on building their own world, and so I’m here for it. We’ll see how far their world building goes when Black Lightning returns Tuesday October 9th. Source: Pretty Brown and…

Review: ATTACK ON TITAN Season 3 Episode 1
Holy animation craze Batman. Three manga/anime related reviews in such a short amount of time? Maybe I should change my twitter handle to Animemaniacs after all. Anyway, after my week of Attack on Titan related posts, it felt like a no-brainer to cover season 3. Wasn’t so sure if I should do an episode by episode review, or an overall season review like the previous two. But after some days of thinking, I decided to try the former just for the sake of it. Without further ado, let the review begin. The mystery from season two just keeps getting bigger as Eren and his friends are on the run. Unlike…

Feature: Is TITANS Destined to Fail?
I love the Teen Titans. I love the characters, I love the stories, I love the giant T-shaped tower; it’s probably my favorite team in all of comics. It’s a series for all ages, so when we have rumors of the very first live-action adaptation being in a TV-MA rating range, It makes me a little nervous. Titans tone is that of The Avengers, not The Defenders. For those who don’t know, the Teen Titans are a group of young heroes (mostly sidekicks) who band together and form their own team. The team consisted of Robin (Dick Grayson), Changeling, Starfire, Raven, and Cyborg. With Kid Flash, Donna Troy and others…
