Arrow was recently picked up by The CW for a seventh season. While plot details are currently under wraps, the season will bring back a fan-favorite character to the spotlight.
It has been announced (via TV Line) that Colton Haynes’ Roy Harper will be back as a series regular on Arrow next season. This news comes off the heels of his recent two-episode guest appearance this season.
In a statement, Haynes said he “could not be happier” to reprise the role again. The show’s executive producers add, “We’re very fortunate and excited to welcome back Colton to Arrow. While we’ve always enjoyed Colton’s returns to the show, we couldn’t be more thrilled to have him return as a proper series regular – and we’re very excited about all the creative opportunities Roy Harper’s return affords us.”
Following his recurring role in season one, Haynes joined as a regular for Arrow‘s second season. He left during season three, when Roy framed his death to clear Oliver’s name. He returned in a season four episode, before his reunion with Thea this season. He joined Thea in her new mission (writing off the character from the show), so how and why he’s back in Star City should be interesting.
Stay tuned for more new as we have it.
