The CW Announces Roy Harper’s Return to ARROW This Season
Ever since Roy Harper exited Arrow in its third season, fans have wanted the character to make a proper return to the show – save for one episode in season four. Actor Colton Haynes teased a few months ago that Roy was returning. And now, we know when and why.
The CW has announced (via TV Line) that Roy is coming back for a “short” story arc this season, beginning with episode 15. Executive producers Marc Guggenheim and Wendy Mericle had this to say about his return. “We’re thrilled to announce that Colton Haynes will be reprising his role as Roy Harper. Roy is called back to Star City to help resolve an urgent matter with high stakes for the team. His short visit turns into something surprising when he reunites with Thea and sparks a change in both of their lives that will have long-lasting consequences….”
Roy debuted on Arrow in season one as a street rat who fell in love with Thea. He was eventually brought into the team and trained by Oliver, adopting the mantle of Arsenal. In season three, Roy faked his death to clear Oliver’s name, and he’s been on the run ever since. It’ll be interesting to see exactly what brings him back.
