DC’s LEGENDS OF TOMORROW Casts Maisie Richardson-Sellers as the New Vixen
A few weeks ago, it was reported that Vixen will play a role in season two of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. However, actress Megalyn Echikunwoke will not reprise the role due to scheduling conflicts. Instead, a new character with some sort of connection to Mari McCabe will take over the Vixen role. Now, the character has been cast.
It has been announced (via TV Line) that Star Wars: The Force Awakens alum Maisie Richardson-Sellers will play Amaya Jiwe, aka Vixen. She is the grandmother of Mari McCabe. Like Mari, Amaya receives powers to access the abilities of animals, courtesy of the Tantu Totem.
Amaya will be a member of the Waverider crew on DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, and she will be a series regular. Echikunwoke will continue voicing her character on the Vixen animated series, while the door is open for her to guest star in any of the live action Arrowverse shows down the line.
DC’s Legends of Tomorrow returns on Thursday, October 13th at 8 PM EST on The CW.
