ARROW Star Stephen Amell Teases “Mean” Season 5, Character Return and Tweaked Costume

The fifth season of Arrow will begin production in a couple of weeks. Following a slew of casting announcements for new characters, series star Stephen Amell has offered some more teases on what to expect next season.

In a Facebook Live video (via TV Line), Amell teased that the Arrow season five premiere “…has the opportunity for us to have the most vicious, violent one-shot in the history of network television.” For those who don’t know, a “one-shot” in this case is a long, continuous take with no cuts. Many movies and television shows have utilized this approach for epic action sequences, from the Knightmare scene in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice to a couple of fight sequences on Daredevil.

Amell adds that if the premiere is any indication, the next season of Arrow will be “[bleep]ing mean.” He also says that a “slightly modified” Green Arrow costume will be seen, while there will be an appearance by “…someone that we haven’t seen in two full seasons. So there’s that.”

Who could be appearing on Arrow next season? There are characters such as Walter Steele and Huntress, who appeared in the show’s first two seasons but were absent in seasons three and four. There’s also Moira Queen, who died in season two. We’ll have to wait and see on this one.
