5 More Nintendo Mobile Games We Want to See

In addition to its console titles, Nintendo has recently expanded to creating games for mobile devices, such as cell phones. These games have pulled from some of the company’s biggest franchises, such Super Mario, Mario Kart, Pokemon, Animal Crossing, and Fire Emblem. So far, the games have been a success, bringing in over $1 billion in revenue. While unconfirmed, Nintendo will surely continue mining its properties for mobile.

Below, we list five games that we’d love to see made by Nintendo for mobile devices.

Donkey Kong

Donkey Kong is one of Nintendo’s biggest franchises, so this will surely be one of the next mobile titles to consider. Playing a Donkey Kong Country game on mobile devices would be a whole lot of fun. The franchise hasn’t had a proper title since 2014’s Tropical Freeze, which was ported for the Nintendo Switch a couple years ago. Whether it’s a whole new game or a remaster of an older one, all of our phones could use more DK.

The Legend of Zelda

Another prominent franchise in Nintendo’s catalog, The Legend of Zelda has taken many forms that can be transferred to mobile. A mobile game can take a more classic style, the style of Breath of the Wild, or even the style of the most recent title, Link’s Awakening. Currently, the franchise’s next title is set to be a Breath of the Wild sequel.

Metroid

While everyone is anticipating news on the long-awaited Metroid Prime 4, Nintendo would do well in bringing a new Samus adventure to mobile. It can be a spinoff from the Prime series, Super Metroid, or something else entirely. This would be a big sci-fi title to add not only to Nintendo’s mobile lineup, but also to high-profile mobile games in general.

Paper Mario

The Paper Mario franchise is returning this summer with The Origami King on Nintendo Switch. To continue the hype train, it would make sense to add a mobile game to the series. The gameplay on mobile would be really unique – imagine those visuals on your iPhone 11 Pro Max. Plus, Nintendo has already been hitting Mario’s biggest franchises – Super Mario, Mario Kart, and Dr. Mario – so his paper counterpart can’t be far behind.

Super Smash Bros.

Y’all already knew this was coming. With the Super Smash Bros. series bigger than ever with Ultimate, it won’t be long until it makes its way onto mobile. It would add a huge fighting title to these devices, while the gameplay would be a lot of fun. The potential for online tournaments using your phones is also something to consider. But yeah, whenever Nintendo adds a new game to mobile, this is our top pick.
