I Lost a Twitter Bet and Bought THE EMOJI MOVIE in 4K UltraHD

Hey everyone, your friendly neighborhood Editor-in-Chief here. Today’s post is a little different, but it makes for a fun story.

Throughout my time on Twitter, I have posted a lot of bets that have not gone in my favor. My track record speaks for itself…

But the one I’m going to write about today may be the funniest.

It was Summer 2018, and the #ReleaseTheSnyderCut movement was in full swing. At the time, I was convinced that Zack Snyder‘s cut of Justice League would never see the light of day. So you could imagine my disbelief when fans started speculating about a San Diego Comic-Con announcement that year. I was so sure it would never happen, I tweeted the following…

Like everyone else on the planet, I did not like The Emoji Movie at all. I thought it was one of the worst movies of all time. That should tell you how confident I was in my expectation that the Snyder Cut would never happen.

For a couple years, I was safe. Then, the impossible happened.

May 20th, 2020. Zack Snyder announced that his cut of Justice League was not only happening, but it is set to be released on HBO Max in 2021. Fans worldwide rejoiced. I was rejoicing too…until I remembered my tweet.

After sharing my old tweet and receiving a ton of replies, I did what any honest person would. I kept my word. So, I went on Amazon and ordered The Emoji Movie in 4K UltraHD. One week later, it arrived in the mail…

Moral of the story, kids: Be careful what you post on social media. Sometimes a questionable tweet can lead to consequences, such as having to buy a bad movie.
