Scott Derrickson Finalizes Deal to Direct DOCTOR STRANGE Sequel
Despite the success of 2016’s Doctor Strange, Marvel has been slow to give any details on a potential sequel, except that it is happening. Since then, Strange has become a recurring character in the MCU, including a show-stealing role in Avengers: Infinity War. Now, the Sorcerer Supreme’s next film is moving forward. Director Scott Derrickson has finalized a deal to return for the Doctor Strange sequel. A writer is currently being sought. Benedict Cumberbatch and Benedict Wong are attached to reprise their roles as Stephen Strange and Wong, respectively. Despite the success of Marvel Studios’ Doctor Strange, we’ve had very little news on a potential sequel. Director Scott Derrickson is reportedly attached to return, while the Sorcerer Supreme is playing a key role in Avengers: Infinity War this year.
