Jason Momoa Talks DC Movie Contract And Who He’d Like To See As AQUAMAN Movie Director

One of the more intriguing casting choices for the DC Cinematic Universe is Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry, aka Aquaman. The Game of Thrones actor is set to portray the King of Atlantis in 2017’s Justice League Part One and his own 2018 Aquaman film, following a minor role in 2016’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Now, Momoa has revealed exactly how many movies are on his contract, as well as who he would want to see as the director of his spin-off.

Momoa appeared at this weekend’s Comic-Con Experience on Sao Paulo, Brazil, and via Twitter accounts @dcumoviepage and @AquamanShrine, he has shared some interesting new info. He confirmed that he is signed on to play Aquaman for four movies. Presumably, those movies would be Batman v Superman, his own film, and Justice League Part One and 2019’s Part Two. Momoa then affirms that his take on the King of the Seas will be “badass,” and he refuses to say anything about his Batman v Superman cameo.

As for who he would like to see as director of the Aquaman movie, Momoa endorses Man of Steel and Dawn of Justice‘s Zack Snyder for the job. Of course, there is a slim chance of this actually happening; Snyder will be busy filming both parts of Justice League over the next few years. That’s not to say he can’t produce it, however, as he is set to produce Wonder Woman and executive produce Suicide Squad. Finally, Momoa states that this version of Aquaman will “silence” those skeptical of the character, and that if he wasn’t playing Aquaman, he would have loved to play Lobo.

Stay tuned for more news as we have it. Aquaman is set to hit theaters July 27th, 2018.
