SUPERGIRL Series Casts Actor Mehcad Brooks As Jimmy Olsen

Following the announcement that Melissa Benoist will star in CBS’s Supergirl pilot/potential series, we have some more casting news. It has been announced that Necessary Roughness actor Mehcad Brooks will play James “Jimmy” Olsen in the show, which is co-written and executive produced by The Flash and Arrow‘s Greg Berlanti. 

Olsen is a character frequently seen in Superman lore, appearing in various film and television projects. He is usually depicted as a member of the Daily Planet crew. However, Supergirl‘s version is described as “a photographer at CatCo, the media company where Kara works. He has recently been living and working in National City, though the reason is still a secret.” Still to be cast are Cat Grant, Hank Henshaw, Wynn Schott and Kara’s foster sister, Alex.
