A while back, it was rumored that Warner Bros. was in early development on a Legion of Superheroes movie, based on DC Comics’ futuristic team of the same name. We haven’t heard anything more since, and the studio hasn’t even confirmed that the movie is happening. Regardless, it looks like the Legion might be popping up on the small screen.
At the Television Critics Association tour (via TV Line) last weekend, DC’s Geoff Johns revealed that one of the company’s television shows will have some sort of reference to the Legion of Superheroes. “You’ll see a hint of the Legion on one of our shows. Keep watching.” He then expresses interest in adapting the group to its full potential. “I love the Legion. They’re underused and hopefully we’ll get them out there soon.”
So which DC show will we see this Legion reference? Back in September, we suggested that the Legion could appear on CBS’ Supergirl, due to the team’s strong connections to the Superman family. Another possibility is DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, which will heavily focus on time travel – something commonly seen in Legion of Superheroes stories. Or, could this hint come from The Flash or even Arrow?
We’ll have to wait and see. Stay tuned for more updates as we have them.
