Confirmed: SUPERGIRL Will Move to The CW for Season 2

We recently reported that CBS was unsure of how to approach Supergirl, which concluded its first season last month. The network was interested in renewing it for season two, but the pricey budget wasn’t justified by the ratings. Then there were rumors of the show moving to The CW, a network co-owned by CBS. Now, a decision has been made.

It has been announced (via The Hollywood Reporter) that Supergirl will switch over to The CW for its second season. Production will move from Los Angeles to Vancouver, where The CW’s other DC shows are being filmed. Additionally, the network has ordered 22 episodes for the season.

Supergirl marks the fourth DC Comics series on The CW’s current slate (fifth if you count the Vertigo title iZombie), joining Arrow, The Flash and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. The show has already crossed over with The Flash, in an episode where Barry Allen travels to Kara Zor-El’s Earth. So, it would make sense to have them all on the same network.
