Supergirl recently resumed its second season on The CW, following its winter hiatus. So far, the season has set up Cadmus as the season’s main antagonists. However, based on this casting announcement, it looks like that’s going to change.
It has been announced (via TV Line) that Teri Hatcher has joined the cast of Supergirl in a recurring role. While details are under wraps, it appears that she is playing the season’s new big bad. It’s unknown which episode will mark her debut.
Of course, Hatcher is best known for playing Lois Lane in the fan-favorite television series Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman. She joins her old co-star Dean Cain, who now plays Jeremiah Danvers on Supergirl. Hatcher also played Lois Lane’s mother, Ella, on Smallville.
Executive producer Andrew Kreisberg had this to say about the casting. “No offense to any of the wonderful actresses who have also played the part, but Teri Hatcher is my all time favorite Lois Lane. To have her come back to the SuperWorld in a completely different part is an unbelievable gift to me, [EP] Greg [Berlanti], and the fans.”
Stay tuned for more Supergirl news as we have it.
