THE BATMAN May Add Producer Dylan Clark

DC Films’ The Batman recently secured Matt Reeves as director, replacing star Ben Affleck and putting the project back on track. The director is still working on this summer’s War for the Planet of the Apes, so he won’t be able to focus completely on Batman until later in the year. Additionally, rumor has it that the script – already rewritten by Chris Terrio – will be heavily revised. While we wait for verification of those rumors, we may have another producer for the project.

According to Deadline, Dylan Clark is in talks to produce The Batman. Clark worked closely with Reeves on his two Planet of the Apes movies, While Clark’s deal hasn’t been closed – he’s also focusing on his production company, Bluegrass, stationed at Universal – it does sound likely at this point. If a deal closes, Clark joins Reeves, Affleck, and Geoff Johns as producers on The Batman.

Production on The Batman is expected to begin sometime next year. If it does, it will probably be released in 2019. Stay tuned for more news as we have it.
