Fox Orders X-Men Pilot THE GIFTED to Series; First Footage Released

Recently, Fox has been collaborating with Marvel Television to bring the X-Men franchise to the small screen. The critically acclaimed Legion wrapped up its first season a few weeks ago on FX, and a second season is coming soon. Now, the next show has been confirmed.

Today (via TV Line), Fox has formally given a series order to The Gifted. Bryan Singer, who helmed four of the X-Men films, directed the pilot, which was written by Matt Nix.

The Gifted stars Stephen Moyer and Amy Acker as a suburban couple whose ordinary lives are rocked by the discovery that their children (Natalie Alyn Lind and Percy Hynes White) have mutant powers. Forced to go on the run from the government, the family joins an underground network of mutants and must fight to survive. Other cast members include Sean Teale as Eclipse/Marcos Diaz, Jamie Chung as Blink/Clarice Fong, Coby Bell as Jace Turner, Emma Dumont as Polaris/Lorna Dane, and Blair Redford as Thunderbird/John Proudstar.

Additionally, Fox has released a brief teaser for The Gifted. The full trailer will drop on Monday, May 15th.

A premiere date for The Gifted has yet to be confirmed, but expect it to debut sometime this fall on Fox. Stay tuned for more news as we have it.
