THE FLASH Casts the Elongated Man for Season 4

A few weeks back, we received some casting breakdowns for The Flash‘s fourth season, which began production a few weeks ago. One of the characters mentioned in the breakdowns was Ralph Dibney, aka the Elongated Man. Now, the show has officially cast the fan-favorite DC superhero.

The CW and DC Entertainment have announced that actor Hartley Sawyer (Saving the Human Race) is set to play Elongated Man on The Flash. The character, who has a recurring role this season, is described as “…a fast-talking private investigator with investigative skills that rival those of Batman. Upon discovering he has the power to stretch his body to any shape or form, Dibny uses his new abilities to help Team Flash solve one of Central City’s greatest mysteries.”

The Flash will serve as Elongated Man’s first live action appearance, following several adaptions in animation. The character’s powers allow him to stretch his body and form various shapes; so basically, the same powers as Plastic Man, Mister Fantastic, and Elastigirl.
