Marvel’s Thor: Ragnarok has only been out for one week in North America and a couple weeks overseas, but the sequel is already hitting some big box office benchmarks.
Per Variety, the critically acclaimed movie has surpassed the $500 million mark worldwide on Wednesday. It is the 12th consecutive Marvel title to do so, and the 14th title overall. It has already surpassed the original Thor worldwide ($449 million), while it should pass The Dark World‘s $645 million very soon.
Ragnarok should easily maintain the #1 spot in North America this weekend, where it is expected to gross at least $50 million. Stay tuned for more updates as we have them.
