DC Films Hires Warner Bros. Executive Chantal Nong for VP Role
Following Justice League‘s underperformance, Warner Bros. began another reconstruction of the DC Films arm. Last month, Walter Hamada is the new head of the division, and he will collaborate with Geoff Johns in the position. Now, WB is further establishing the group.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, WB executive Chantal Nong has been appointed for a key role at DC Films. She will serve as the vice president of production for the division. She will work on the development and production management of DC’s movie slate. Nong has been working at WB since 2011, and she has been involved with movies such as 300: Rise of an Empire and The Intern.
Additionally, THR’s article has some minor updates on the next few DC films. As expected, Wonder Woman 2 is the next movie to undergo production, and casting should begin soon. Meanwhile, the next wave of movies will reportedly include Flashpoint (which is securing directors now) and Joss Whedon’s Batgirl.
With these behind-the-scenes movements on DC Films, hopefully we’ll get some more concrete updates sooner than later. Stay tuned.
