5 More STAR WARS Video Games We Want to See

The Star Wars saga has spawned countless video games over the years, exploring different eras and characters. Some are no longer canon (cough The Force Unleashed cough), while others are a part of the Disney continuity. Most prominently, in recent years, we’ve had two Battlefront games (which seem to be it for that series) and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order (which is expected to launch a new series).

Of course, these games are not slowing down, and we’re bound to get more and more over time. Below, we list five more Star Wars video games that we want to see.

LEGO Stories

Star Wars is one of LEGO’s biggest franchises, if not the biggest. It has spawned several video games, exploring the prequels, original trilogy, The Clone Wars, and The Force Awakens. The next game, The Skywalker Saga, combines all nine movies in that series. But the potential is there for another game exploring non-Skywalker tales. Levels can depict anywhere from Rogue One and Solo to Rebels and The Mandalorian. Star Wars is bigger than the Skywalker Saga, and this would help emphasize that.

The Mandalorian

Speaking of The Mandalorian, that series has been a massive success for Disney+. In a time when fandom is more divided on Star Wars than ever, it’s refreshing to have a product that’s almost universally acclaimed. So, a video game set in that world would be fun. It doesn’t have to star Din Djarin necessarily, but it can still be bounty hunter-centric and be an original western tale. Think Star Wars meets Red Dead Redemption.

Solo

Solo: A Star Wars Story was the franchise’s first box office flop, killing any plans for a sequel and changing up Lucasfilm’s approach to other movies. If they’re not going to continue young Han Solo’s adventures in live action, the potential is there for a video game. Think another western space story set in that part of the saga. It can depict Han’s other adventures, such as meeting Jabba the Hutt and other iconic characters.

The Sequel Trilogy

For the most part, the sequel trilogy was a big financial and critical success for Disney and Lucasfilm. While The Rise of Skywalker ended things on a more sour note, the world of the sequels is massive, and other mediums have plenty to explore. One way is to do a game, or game series. Do an original story with new characters set during this era, and boom. New franchise.

Post-Rise of Skywalker

Speaking of The Rise of Skywalker, that movie marked the end of the Skywalker Saga, and there seem to be no plans to explore what happens afterwards in any medium. Still, a video game or game series that tackles that timeline would be cool. Again, focus on new characters in the aftermath of the First Order’s fall, and go from there.
