LEGO Sets To Coincide With BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN Release In 2016

Unsurprisingly, LEGO has been developing a new line of DC Universe sets to be released alongside Batman vs. Superman. They were originally scheduled for 2015, to coincide with the theatrical debut of the Man of Steel sequel. We now have an update from the London Toy Fair, via Brick Fanatics. Since the movie’s delay to Summer 2016, the LEGO sets have also been pushed back a year. A new line of DC products will be put out in 2015 as a replacement.
The majority of LEGO’s DC sets are Batman based, which is no surprise, considering that it’s the biggest selling line for DC. A handful of Superman sets have also been released, most of which tied into Man of Steel last year. Other characters such as Wonder Woman, Aquaman, and The Flash are also included in these sets. Hopefully, 2015 and beyond will see the debut of LEGO sets not headlined by Superman or Batman. Stay tuned for more news as we have it.
Batman vs. Superman (not the final title) is scheduled to hit theaters May 6th, 2016. The follow-up to Man of Steel, the next installment in the DC Cinematic Universe stars Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Diane Lane, and Laurence Fishburne. Zack Snyder directs from a script by David S. Goyer and Chris Terrio.
