JUSTICE LEAGUE: THRONE OF ATLANTIS Animated Movie Gets A Release Date
After appearing at New York Comic-Con last week, DC’s next animated movie, Justice League: Throne of Atlantis, now has a release date. Via World’s Finest Online, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has announced that the film will be available on DVD and Blu-Ray on January 27th, 2015. The Justice League: War sequel, which is based on the acclaimed “Throne of Atlantis” New 52 story arc by Geoff Johns, has an unsurprising runtime of 72 minutes, as well as the expected PG-13 rating for “sci-fi violence and action throughout.” Throne of Atlantis serves as an origin story for Aquaman, who teams up with the Justice League to battle his brother Orm and his forces.
Specific details on what bonus features will be available on the home video releases are unknown, but they will consist of four bonus cartoons, featurettes, and a sneak peek at the next DC animated movie. While that movie isn’t named, it’s most likely Batman vs. Robin, which was announced at this summer’s San Diego Comic-Con and is expected to release in the spring or summer of 2015.
Justice League: Throne of Atlantis has a voice cast consisting of Matt Lanter as Aquaman, Sam Witwer as Orm, Sumalee Montano as Mera, Jason O’Mara as Batman, Jerry O’Connell as Superman, Rosario Dawson as Wonder Woman, Shemar Moore as Cyborg, Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern, Christopher Gorham as The Flash, Sean Astin as Shazam and Harry Lennix as Black Manta. Additionally, DC All Access premiered a new clip from the movie today. You can watch that below, and stay tuned for more news as we have it.
