Possible New BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE Details Reveal Villain Appearances, Lex Luthor’s Agenda And More
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is set to wrap production within the next week or two, but little is known about the Justice League prequel plot-wise. We know Lex Luthor is the main villain, but a secondary antagonist has yet to be confirmed. Rumors have suggested that it will be Doomsday, while some fans have hoped to see Metallo. There has also been speculation that a Batman villain such as Joker would appear, but that has received no substantiation. Now, a report from Badass Digest has seemingly revealed which villains we will and won’t see in Dawn of Justice, while new light is shed on Lex Luthor’s motivation. Beware, there are some potential SPOILERS ahead.
So first off, Badass Digest confirms that Doomsday is indeed in Batman v Superman. No other details are given, but this is coming off the heels of numerous rumors over the past year. The site goes on to describe Lex Luthor’s “dark” agenda, which consists of keeping a close eye on metahumans. One metahuman in particular is “a woman who walks the streets today but who is seen in pictures from the 1800s. A wonder woman, you might say.” This may add some substantiation to prior rumors of Wonder Woman’s first two solo movies being set in the past; however, that report said that in the first film, Diana Prince is introduced to man’s world in the 1920s. How can she be photographed in the 1800s, yet she does not make a public appearance in the world until the 1920s? Of course, that’s just my take, and if both are true, a proper explanation will likely be given.
Anyways, Luthor has a number of agents in on his agenda. One of these is Anatoli Knyazev, aka KGBeast, a DC supervillain who most frequently fights Batman. A version of the character was featured in the second season of Arrow, while Kynazev briefly appeared as a member of the Suicide Squad in the animated movie Batman: Assault on Arkham. In the latter, KGBeast was the first member to be executed. With a Suicide Squad movie releasing a few months after Batman v Superman – and with Lex Luthor possibly appearing in that film as well – perhaps Anatoli could appear in the supervillain team-up as well? Badass Digest adds that the version of KGBeast appearing in Dawn of Justice will be different from the comics.
Finally, the site reveals which villain won’t make an appearance: The Joker. The Clown Prince of Crime does exist in this world, and Superman is aware of his existence. While the character will not make a full-fledged appearance here, Joker has been rumored to be in the Suicide Squad film, with Jared Leto reportedly in talks to play him.
Some very interesting new tidbits here. Hopefully, we’ll know more about Batman v Superman sooner than later, especially with a teaser trailer rumored to be releasing by the end of the year.
