Jai Courtney In Talks To Play Deadshot In SUICIDE SQUAD; Will Smith and Tom Hardy's Roles Revealed?
Another day, another Suicide Squad casting report. According to Variety, Divergent and Terminator Genisys actor Jai Courtney is in talks to play a key character in the DC supervillain team-up film, and it looks to be none other than Deadshot. Floyd Lawton is a well-known member of the Squad, and he appeared recently as a member on Arrow. It also gives Courtney another blockbuster to add to his resume, as he has become a staple for tentpole movies in the past year or two.
If this pans out, Courtney would join what looks to be a stellar cast. Variety reaffirms that Jared Leto, Margot Robbie, Tom Hardy and Will Smith are in various stages of negotiations to star in the movie. As previously reported, Leto is circling the role of The Joker, while Robbie is being lined up to play Harley Quinn. Variety has also revealed that Hardy is in talks to play Rick Flagg, a founding member of the Suicide Squad in the comics. Smith’s potential role is unclear, but Variety says that it is “likely” Captain Boomerang, another recognizable Squad member and an antagonist of The Flash. Finally, Jesse Eisenberg may reprise his role of Lex Luthor from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
Stay tuned for more news as we have it. Suicide Squad is set to hit theaters August 5th, 2016.
