Gorrie is a veteran soap opera actor, he’s had roles on both
One Life to Live and As the World Turns. He’s also had guest spots on The Good Wife and Law & Order SVU. He will
be playing John Grayson, the character is part of the Flying Graysons, an act
in Haley’s Circus. John is presumed to
meet his future wife on Gotham. As
most people familiar with the Batman mythos are likely aware, John and Mary
eventually have a son named Richard and lose their life during a performance in
Gotham City. Dick is taken in by Bruce
Wayne and becomes Batman’s sidekick, Robin. (imdb)

Gorrie is clearly excited to be a part of the series as he
took to twitter to announce his role and even posting the above photo with series star,
Ben McKenzie.

On a related note, Gotham’s
success has excited Fox Network President, David Madden. He recently told Adweek that, in addition to Gotham they are looking into airing a
second DC-Comics series. It has been
previously reported that Fox is developing Warren Ellis’ Global Frequency as well as a series based on the Neil Gaiman Vertigo
series, Lucifer. Madden could be
referring to these or it could be telling that he mentioned DC Comics specifically.

Either way DC Comics is running red hot on television right
now, so it’s no surprise that Fox would want more.
