SUICIDE SQUAD Looking to Add Jay Hernandez to Its Cast
With production for Warner Bros.’ Suicide Squad set to begin in April, more casting announcements are expected to be made over the next few weeks. We learned last week that Joel Kinnaman is expected to replace Tom Hardy as Rick Flagg, and now, we have word on another addition to this strong ensemble cast.
According to The Wrap, Friday Night Lights and Gangs Related actor Jay Hernandez is in talks to join the cast of Suicide Squad. His potential character is being kept under wraps, as there are currently “several” open roles for the DC supervillain film. However, The Wrap says Hernandez could be playing an inmate who shares a cell block with The Joker (Jared Leto). Again, Warner Bros. is expected to announce official casting additions to the movie before production begins, so stay tuned for more as we have it.
Suicide Squad is scheduled to hit theaters August 5th, 2016. The third installment in the DC Cinematic Universe stars Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Joel Kinnaman, Jai Courtney, Cara Delevingne and Jared Leto. David Ayer writes and directs.
