After many months of rumors, it looks like we will finally be seeing the first trailer for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice next month, as it will be attached to theatrical screenings of Mad Max: Fury Road. Other details, such as its runtime and what exactly the footage will contain, are unknown. However, an online release shortly before or after it debuts in theaters is inevitable. And now, we have some interesting details on the trailer’s music.
According to The Playlist, composers Hans Zimmer and Junkie XL are teaming up to co-compose a new musical piece that is specifically for the Batman v Superman trailer, rather than a piece from this or another movie. For the full movie score, Zimmer is again composing the Superman portions, while Junkie XL will create a new theme for Batman.
XL recently teased on Twitter that he has begun scoring…something, and it could very well be referring to the Batman v Superman trailer – if not the movie itself. Stay tuned for more news as we have it.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is scheduled to hit theaters March 25th, 2016. The second installment in the DC Cinematic Universe stars Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Jesse Eisenberg, Callan Mulvey, Tao Okamoto, Holly Hunter, Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane and Laurence Fishburne. Zack Snyder directs from a script by Chris Terrio.
