Earlier this week, David Ramsey, who plays John Diggle on Arrow, teased a visit to The Flash writers room on social media. This has led to speculation that the character will be appearing on the latter show, creating yet another crossover. And now, Diggle’s trip to Central City has been confirmed, and he’s not alone. Also: fan-favorite villain King Shark will be returning in this episode.
ComicBook.com has confirmed with showrunner Andrew Kreisberg that John Diggle and his wife, Lyla, will be guest starring on The Flash. The two will appear in episode fifteen of this season. Kreisberg explains the episode’s plot, as well as how King Shark fits in. “The Diggles arrive in Central City to help Barry take on King Shark who has escaped from ARGUS and is hellbent on completing his mission of destroying The Flash.”
An Earth-2 version of King Shark appeared earlier this season as a minion of Zoom’s. However, he was quickly defeated by Harrison Wells, also from Earth-2. The show’s producers were uncertain about the character returning in another episode, since so much money was spent on bringing Shark to life. But it looks like we’ll be meeting Earth-1 Shark soon.
Also, King Shark appeared in a story arc of The Flash Season Zero, a comic book tie-in to the show. In the arc, Shark was a metahuman who becomes a member of the Suicide Squad for ARGUS. Will that play into the show? We’ll have to wait and see.
Stay tuned for more news as we have it. The Flash returns to The CW on Tuesday, January 19th at 8 PM EST.
