Will Smith Wants to See Deadshot Take Over as Batman for a Movie
Will Smith will make his debut as Floyd Lawton, aka Deadshot, in this summer’s Suicide Squad. After that, it’s unknown where his character will go. Deadshot has been rumored to appear in Ben Affleck’s Batman movie, while Smith is expected to return for a Suicide Squad sequel. There’s even the potential for Deadshot to headline his own spinoff movie.
Now, Smith has weighed in on Deadshot’s future, but offers a completely different option for a story. Speaking with MTV (transcription via Comic Book), he admits that Warner Bros./DC doesn’t “tell you anything” when asked about more films.
When asked what he’d like to do with the character, Smith jokingly suggests that he could take over as Batman himself. “There was one of the comics when Bruce Wayne got injured and I think Deadshot for a couple of them came in and he had to throw on the Batsuit. So I’m just saying: if they’re going to draw on that, I wouldn’t reject it….I’m a team player.” He then shares his Batman voice, which you can check out in the video below.

While we’ll likely be seeing plenty of Deadshot in the DC Extended Universe, we probably won’t see him become Batman. At least, as long as Ben Affleck is in the suit. But, stranger things have happened.
Would you like to see Will Smith’s Deadshot take over as Batman for a film?
