Jeremy Irons Confirms His Return as Alfred for JUSTICE LEAGUE
One of the highlights of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was Alfred Pennyworth, played wonderfully by Jeremy Irons. This take on Bruce Wayne’s butler is a worthy addition to the long line of portrayals of the character. Alfred also added to several of the film’s more humorous moments, while Irons had flawless chemistry with Ben Affleck. So, it’s exciting to hear that he will be back for Zack Snyder’s next DC movie.
Irons has confirmed to Showbiz411 (via Batman-News) that he will reprise his role as Alfred in Justice League, which began shooting a few weeks ago. No further details on the extent of his role in this film are provided.
Alfred marks the latest Batman supporting character to appear in Justice League, joining J.K. Simmons in his debut as Commissioner Gordon. Also, don’t be surprised if both actors return for Affleck’s Batman film. Stay tuned for more news as we have it.
Justice League Part One is scheduled to hit theaters November 17th, 2017. The fifth installment in the DC Extended Universe stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Amber Heard, Joe Morton, Willem Dafoe, Jeremy Irons and J.K. Simmons. Zack Snyder directs from a script by Chris Terrio.
